Description

With butter-yellow flowers, all species of Ranunculus grow either in winter-wet swamps or ponds, in full or partial sun. Most also spread rapidly and can overwhelm nearby plants. This species has fairly coarse leaves (Ranunculus inundatus has fine, lacy leaves) and prefers to grow in wet soils rather than ponds.

Advice

Maintenance

Expect the plant to spread. Making a barrier with 20cm garden edging can help prevent the uncontrolled spread of a plant and marks a clear boundary. Anything outside this boundary can be ruthlessly removed with a clear conscience.
